I dont like taking risks . I like planning things out and
sticking to my comfort zone.

Its been hard letting go of that control and embracing
what comes next in my art journey and even life in
general.

Its been even harder putting my rather shy self out
there on the big bad internet.

Its also been difficult getting rid of that awkward
penguin who lives in my stomach and chooses to
spontaneously combust every time I'm put in an
uncomfortable or unfamiliar situation.

Taking the first plunge into my art business initially felt
like free fall. The first jump was terrifying ... but I feel
like its been getting smoother since.... not smooth
sailing perhaps, but I've learnt to tame my internal
storms if not my external ones.

I've also realized that I've never been in control... of
anything despite my best efforts. I understand now that
God is the best of planners and if I have good intent
and hard work to show for it, that's all that matters.
Even taking risks seems easier now.

So here's to squashing that awkward penguin inside
and embracing the free fall of trying something new,
something exciting, something that makes me feel alive
.

Maybe that's how I'll learn how to fly ...

Have you ever felt the same way about trying new
things?
